"I think that ideas exist outside of ourselves. I think somewhere, we're all connected off in some very abstract land. But somewhere between there and here, ideas exist." - David Lynch

Art is my life force, The breath I breathe daily, It sustains me, nourishes me and feeds me when all else falls away. The living womb in which I take refuge. My comfort, my disturbance and the voice I use to argue with the wrongs of the world today. Using various media and focusing on socio-political themes, whilst injecting humour, shock and the cold truth, this results in powerful, emotive imagery that can at times leave the viewer feeling slightly uncomfortable but will awaken them to something that they may have before dismissed. The aim of my work is not to be controversial, although it does at times court that, it's also a form of release for myself, a place in which I can vent my frustration, project my dreams and connect with similar thinking individuals, It's my therapist and together we have formed a respectful safe relationship which is nurtured daily. Art gives us the power to educate and inspire, it brings colour into a society that is so often deemed black and white, it is said that art isn't just about something looking nice, it's supposed to make you feel something and in a world that is focused on blocking or hiding feelings, my aim as an artist is to encourage them to be felt and tackled head on.

I am continually broadening my practice, by working with new media and continued research, everything comes from something that has been before so I believe that by looking at the artists of the past this can move us forward. Every era has had its anarchy, the artists who push the boundaries and question conforms, this has led to huge change and these artists are a huge source of inspiration to myself, whether they be involved with film, writing, visual art or performance, there is a common link that cannot be dismissed. They changed the world in some way, and although at times they were ridiculed, condemned or ignored they never gave up on their quest, I hope to one day follow in their footsteps.
